Red Cross Addie Dean

Red Cross Addie Dean

I reported back to the office
About the shrine and tomb that I’d seen
No one much interested
But the Red Cross Queen, “Addie Dean”

She asked If I and Don
Would show her our find
So next Saturday, Don and I took a hike
With Addie Dean tagging along behind

We stepped off the trail
Walked through the trees and vine
Standing there in all her beauty
Was this gorgeous ancient Korean shrine

To prove that she was there
Don snapped a photo of the scene
Back in 1946
Of me and Addie Dean

Fifty yards behind the shrine
Up a gentle rise, you know
Was the tomb of some great man
Buried hundreds of years ago.

This old shrine needed
Some tender loving care
The door and windows
Needed some repair

There were holes
In the rice paper covered windows
The door slightly ajar
We did not enter, doncha know.

Addie Dean the Red Cross Queen
Now had seen the scene
That Don and I had seen
The End.
