The Guard at the Tomb

The Guard at the Tomb

In this photo on the side of the tomb
Stood a ten foot stone statue and me
The statue is in the back
Iím the one in front, you see

The guard, five foot thick from front to back
Four foot wide from side to side
Standing there hundreds of years
Since some dignitary died.

While standing in the front
My hand on the scabbard of the guardsí sword
His hands on the hilt
Obscured by my shoulders so broad?

Standing at the ready
With a Priestsí statue at his side
There at the entrance
Allowing no evil spirits inside

Where was this statue sculpted?
How long ago?
Perfect features and dress
Doncha know

After hundreds of years
Standing straight and true
This monstrous statue
How was it moved?

A picture of two soldiers
One ancient and one new
Standing together as one
Him ten foot tall, me six foot two.
