Valentine's Day a day for love.

On February 14, 2013, I sent my wife a note.

"Ginny, I'm going to try something that will be hard to do, but I'm determined to
try. I'm going to write a reason for loving you every day for a year.
So here we go:

This morning, Valentine's Day, I woke, showered, and got ready for work.
You slept, because you worked last night. I walked into the room kissed you goodbye and
loved you for being there on our 9th Valentine together.

I love you, Ginny.

It was the beginning of the most amazing adventure of my life.

At first, the reasons came fast and furious. I wrote more than one hundred in a
couple weeks.

I slowed and got scared.

Could I do this?

My mindset changed; I could and would.
I made a promise; I'd do this.

I looked at our daily life.
Each day, I observed how we interacted. I saw the smiles we shared. There were
good and bad times. We were a couple. We battled through the bad and laughed through
the good.

Each day was an adventure.

There were times I doubted if I'd complete my mission, but I trudged on. I kept a
journal with my reasons. Each day, I opened my "365 Days with Reasons Why I Love
You" document.

I didn't close it until I went to bed. It was open, because I knew Ginny would give
me another reason for loving her..

I observed our life together and found the good. I ignored everything else.

I once spilled a container of freshly made chili on the kitchen floor. It splattered
to cover counters on both sides of the kitchen, and the fronts of both the stove and
dishwasher. My reason that day: Ginny, I love you for not killing me for making
such a mess.

Why look and complain about the bad? Look for the good.

I did it.

I found 356 reasons why I loved my wife.

I smile every time I am with her.

My life changed.

Ginny makes me happy. Looking for the reasons, I learned why. My mission
opened my eyes to why I am so happy to be with her.

Every couple should do this. I know I will never regret it.

This was an exercise of love.

My final reason for loving Ginny was:

Ginny, I love you because you always love me more.

Happy Valentine's, Sweetie.

This has been an amazing adventure, with an amazing woman.

Thank you for being the person you are, a person who can give me 365 reasons why

I love them.
