Getting Old Ain’t no Fun

When I was young
Just a little lad
I never dreamed getting older
Could be so bad

I found getting older
Was no fun
That’s when your body parts
Start coming undone

Suffer from Arthritis
Maybe Diabetes
Every disease
That comes to meet us

Eyesight fades a lot
Getting easier to forget
Hearing, Get lots of “What”
I haven’t got to the good part yet.

Smoking damaged my lungs
Cholesterol just begun
To reach Dangerous highs
Told ya, Getting older ain’t no fun

The old heart
Lost one bout
I made it through
I could shout

Joints all achy
Walking becomes a chore
Skin gets flaky
Black spots on my arms galore

When I awake in the morning
I move slowly and with care
Just in case some new pain
Is lurking there

The worst of all
About getting old ain’t no fun
Your friends and relatives
Start passing away one by one

Take some advice
Don’t hurry to get old
Take time to enjoy your life
Keep the Hurry “on hold”

To all my young friends and relatives
Send your love, don’t wait to long
Tell all your friends and relatives, I Love You, ‘now’
Tomorrow they may be gone
