For some time now, large numbers of children together with some adults and near adults have been pouring across the Mexican border. These people are not Mexicans but from a number of South American countries. They have paid Mexican Coyotes good money to bring them to the American border. There they are told to give themselves up to the border patrol and they will be given a paper with permission to stay in the country and will be taken care of for free by the American government.

For the last few weeks the news has been full of accounts of them. They are being put in warehouses for lack of any available place to keep them. Then the government has been sending them in bus convoys to cities across the nation to dump them there. Large demonstrations of people have met the buses and turned them away, not allowing the people to get off the buses in their town. Others have been flown in on jet passenger planes.

The entire nation has been talking about it. Every radio or TV talk show and all the news networks have spent a lot of time on it.

President Obama has asked Congress for 3.7 billion dollars to help take care of these people. That too, has had a lot of discussion.

So Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader and the man in charge at the Senate, rose to the floor of the Senate with the TV cameras on him. Most of the time he gripes about the Republicans but this time was a little different.

This time Harry Reid assured the American people that our border with Mexico is secure.

I believe, as frightening as it is to do it, that the Senate must take steps to get Senator Reid to psychiatric evaluation. I believe he has to be suffering from dementia. For the good of the nation I believe he has to be relieved of his duties in the Senate.

How can the United States allow the leader of the Senate to remain at the head of the Senate when he has obviously lost some of his mental capacity?
