My writing had a little success this week.

I received an email from Chicken Soup for the Soul. They informed me that one of my stories made it into the final selection round for their upcoming book called, "The Power of Forgiveness".

The next day I received an email from Writer's Weekly. A story I entered in their 24-Hour Short Story contest received an honorable mention.

They give $300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd. Next they give 20 honorable mentions.

They only allow 500 entries for each contest, which means I was in the top 5%. I could have been 4th or 23rd. I have no idea, but I'm proud of it. After 10 years entering the contest, this is only my second honorable mention.

I won a year of their monthly newsletter, "Write Markets Report". It lists suggested and hot markets for writers. I also get to pick a book from their list of writing Ebooks.

I still have to look at the list and pick the one I want.

Never give up. Keep writing. Good things will happen.

Mike
